« on: October 08, 2012, 01:51:20 PM »
I've built a series of simple Solenoid Engines just for fun and quick gratification.   :coffee:

That's neat

And you have thought of everything: there's even a little chimney, in case the magic smoke is ever released from the electrics.

I've cut the end off it twice, but it's still too short

Thanks Andy.  Yea, I've thought about putting a wick down the chimney to simulate real smoke billowing out.     Ralph

Thanks Ken.  I now believe that the greatest fun was in building this engine, ( as is probably the case generally ).  Think I'll build another with some variations.  Ralph

:zap: I do quite like your little project there, what did you scavenge the solenoid out of or did you roll your own? :borg:
Cheers

How did you get photo's 31-32 to look so dog-like?  :)

Thanks Graham.  I picked up the soleniod - and others - at a local surplus store.  Figured I could do something with em, and several things have resulted.  I have rolled my own just to declare that I could do it, but some times I just take the easier route and fabricate the parts that can't be readily had.  Ralph

Thanks Baldrocker.  Photos 31 & 32 are my best buddy, Chico.  He inspects everything I do, distracts me when I need it (and when I don't), and keeps that old cat at bay.  I'm sure you know what I mean.   :D  Ralph
