Nice work, Ksor. In the 1960's I did something similar on the aluminium instrument panel of a 1940s car, with an electric drill in a stand, a little felt polishing mop and some abrasive paste. But it was aluminium, and soon looked dull, even though I varnished it.

What type of brush do you use?
Never used cutting paste which is the same as grinding/lapping paste. Always did it dry.

A trick if havent a jig or means of controlling the pattern is to overlap it. If following a pattern, the one slightly out will stick out like a sore thumb.

It's really 'engine turning' which is worth a Google- or more.
