"Barn find" |

AdeV:
What is it about the phrase "Barn find" and eBay? It used to be confined, mostly, to old agricultural equipment, rusty tractors and rotted stationary engines; but more & more I'm seeing it applied to cars, and now even lathes & milling machines! Can a lathe really ever be a "barn find"? What really gets me is, the seller must assume that the phrase "barn find" increases the value of an object.... and yet for pretty much anything except a real antique piece of machinery that has been preserved in good condition, I'd say the exact opposite was true? Ah well, moan over, how's your day going? |

Ah well, moan over, how's your day going? Dunno about barn finds....... But, I've been turning a lot of material, off the o/d's of a pair of 5"+, flywheel castings........ And...... Me mini lathe didn't blow up! :ddb: :ddb: :D Had a great day, thanks! David D |

I think they put barn find so you don't expect anything more than a pile of solid antique rust. |
