tom osselton:

Hello all I have never played with steam before but my dad worked at the dockyard for 34 years and wanted to build a steamer for the inner harbour in victoria bc. He passed at 86 and I want to try to finish it for him. He had the cylinder head cast in two parts it has a 1. 5 " high presure and a 3" low presure bore with a 2.5" stroke measured between the ports with a total bore depth of 3.5". The low exhausts on the right and the high exhausts on the left. I will be going back out there to bring back his lathe and shaper within the month and now that I have a idea what to look for see if he made any more parts. I have done some lathework (a southbend) and milling but have never ran a shaper and am looking forward to the challenge. I would also like to thank saw and doubleboost and anyone else who posts the stages of their build it has really helped wrap my head around the construction and workings of these engines!

I have his notes and some drawings but wasn't sure what model it is but today I came across a stuart 6a that looks like it is the same one what do you think?

Hi and welcome.
It is impossible to say whether this is a Stuart 6, because the picture is too large and it is impossible to get an accurate overview.  :zap:
Looking at the drawing it looks like it. Good luck with the building.  :nrocks:
