Hello from Newcastle (Australia)
Barrytech:
I just found this forum while checking out ball turning attachments for my lathe. It looks to be a great place to hang out and explore.
( I thought I'd found a close neighbour in Micktoon from Newcastle-on-Tyne, but not to worry, my grandfather, George Gibbons, was a Geordie)
In an earlier life I was an Industrial Arts teacher (metal shop, Design & Technology, metalwork -depends what country you're from, but it's all the same).
Most recently I worked at the local university as a Technical Officer in the School of Education and this got me interested in silver jewellery making in all it's forms, ceramics, computers (especially Photoshop), video editing/conversions, and all things technical.
I'm into photography via my DSLR and have joined a local photographic group.
Also I've just finished building a furnace to melt aluminium for aluminium castings.
With all that, it's just as well I'm recently retired!

Hi Barry ? , Its Mick from the real Newcastle here :thumbup: , welcome to madmodders, sounds like you are almost a Geordie there, what with your grandad being a Goeordie and you still living in 'Newcastle' its a close as you can get without being here I suppose . I have just done what you probably did when you saw my Hello from Newcastle lol. There are a few Geordies on here ( Rob Wilson and John ' Doubleboost That I know of ) so I am sure you will be an adopted Geordie.
sounds like you have plenty interests to keep you busy , I hope you will be posting some photos of what you have been up to.
Cheers Mick
