Gear knob for a Robin Hood |

Ross:
Hi everyone, Today I made a new gearstick for my dads car, it's a robin hood kit car - apologies for the lo Res picture! He bought it recently fully built, I can't see this being the last mod I'll have to do to it! Here is the gearknob that was replaced, he wanted something a bit more slick and that would be able to grip onto better than the "golf ball" he wanted something a bit more slick and that would be able to grip onto better than the "golf ball" aboe so here is what I made nothing too special but it fits the purpose! It has a slight chamfer on the base going up to a radius on the corner. I made the radius with a file on the lathe and tapped an M12 hole to thread into the gearstick. I haven't picture of it fitted as of yet as I need to polish it some more and it's too dark to fit it! All in a days work for a lazy Friday! Ross |

That gear knob is much better and in keeping. I've always fancied building a Robin Hood / Caterham etc. They are amazing fun. Nick |
