When I saw Ashburton Aviation museum I got confused, I thought there is no aviation museum at Ashburton, I drive past there often enough to notice and would have visited if there was. A quick google revealed wrong Ashburton lol.

You really look like you are enjoying yourself assembling that bird. I loved the video. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Cheers

Don

John Hill:
Hi Don, I'm the new boy in town and those retired farmers think I know something about aircraft!

RotarySMP:
That takes me back. I was a Mech on No. 75 SQN next door when the Macchi's started arriving. Later I was a Tech in the Ohakea engine bay, so we would install the QEC and prep them for installation.

I hope you guys have a good range of tooling. We always thought No.42 should have "Sponsored by Snap-on" as a SQN logo. The Airframe is a mix of metric and UNF, the Engine (Viper 680) largely Whitworth, although the hydraulic pump was UNF and the Ignitor system metric.

Glad the gov donated it to your museum.
