They look like some I received with my mill which is a HM52 (Grizzly 3617 in the US)
I think it was RDG in the UK that where selling some odd collets in the clearance section and there is also some sellers on ebay with them.
The sellers are the type that just sell bits and pieces, but are cheap.
There are a few odd sizes collets out there, so you will have to ask for some measurements, but if I remember right RDG had them listed.

I've seen quite a few ER-like collets (DIN, OZ, VB, TG, ...) on the Vertex catalogue that I got from some UK vendor (cannot recall which, probably Chronos, ARCEuroTrade or RDG) in bedside reader form.
They're complete with drawings and specifications.
They can be seen on the Vertex site, too www.vertex-tw.com.tw  [enter] -> "Products" -> "Tooling system ER Collet ..." though browsing there is a bit slow - don't hold Your breath while waiting for a page to appear.

I think those shown on the Vertex site are true ER collets, with a 16 degree (included) taper. Dave's sound like some which Arc Euro Trade were selling off cheap two or three years ago, and if I recall correctly they had an 8 degree taper.

Funds permitting, it might be best to change over to true ER collets. CTC tools in Hong Kong seem to be the cheapest (but watch out for the shipping), and I understand they are reasonable quality. This is their shop on  Ebay < http://stores.ebay.co.uk/CTC-Tools >. Click on Tool- and Work-Holding.

If you are outside the UK, I'm sure they will have an Ebay store near you.

from page 04 on there are the other types.

I agree with CTC: not sure about the collets, but my MT2/ER32 holder came from there. Stuff can be purchased from their site, too: http://www.ctctools.biz

I'm not sure Vertex would be interested in selling retail to individuals rather than wholesale to dealers. I think these collets may be the same design < http://www.chesteruk.net/products/detail/230 >, but I'm not sure if they come in different size series like ER ones do: ER8, E11, ...... ER40. The Chester ones seem to hold up to a maximum of 16mm, as does the ER25 series. ER25 collets are 25mm diameter at their widest point, which might give some guidance for Dave if he wants to compare the Chester set with the ones he already has.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions guys, the Chester set seems very similar looking at the slot position, however I will change over to an ER set. I can get an ER 32 metric set and chuck plus a 1/2" collet from Hong Kong for about $100 Australian including postage.  I just want to use 1/2" shank cutters I have, and most of my gear is metric.

PS: you can use metric cutters on imperial collets and imperial cutters on metric collets :ddb:

I have some of those collets also,  the closest I have found in look and dimension is TG 75  coletts

   http://www.colletizer.com/collet_dimensions.html

Are yours close to these specs ?    I thought I was buying ER collets .

Dave they certainly look like the cheapies Chester flog and quite frankly i wouldnt wish to recommend to my worst enemy.
Proper ER of best European manufacture aint much better.
