Q: What are the benefits of your various neat oils? I bought the "highly chlorinated" (No. 432) on the basis it sounded like the most effective one; but how is it better (or worse) than the chlorine-free 430, or the sulpherised 433? Like many here, I mostly machine mild steel, aluminium, and occasionally brass/bronze. |

Hi it depends on what materials are being machined the 432 is for heavy duty machining and is suitable for high tensile steels and stainless, the 433 is a light viscosity iso 8 product which is ideal for deep hole drilling and boring where a thinner cutting oil can get to the cutting area easily, the 427 is what is regarded as a general purpose oil for general mild steels, it will machine high tensile and stainless steels but prolonged usage on these materials will restrict tool life. |
