This is my most recent engine.  I didn't know for sure what it was going to be when I started, and it became a beam finger treddle engine,   I documented some build photos and will try to organize and get them posted.  Ralph

Here it is in operation.



But I couldn't leave it at that, so decided to power it up. Steam / air power were considered, and it went on from there.  The next post will show it as it resulted.

Looks like my reply to your other post was a bit out of sync! 


A very neat build. A lot of component construction involved in this one.

That's something I'm going to have to work on myself... It takes me ages to realise I can actually make the parts from many parts. I find It can be very difficult to get the correct angles!

Hi again, Ralph,

Yes, there is a lot of component construction involved in my models.  With the limited equipment that I have, I have become well versed in the use of micro saws, many files, and other hand tools as well as with silver soldering.  The circuitry is a collection of wires, switches, and lights (LEDs) and batteries arranged to facilitate the proper flow of electrons to electromagnets (solenoids).  This marriage of mechanical and electrical components results in a functional device that is fun to play with.  Posted below are a few more build photos









and a video of the finished model, if one is ever really finished.

Thanks Eric and David.  It has been Great Fun developing these models and adaptations.  Brass works well and easily, and the designs just develop.

Well Ralph,  I have a third hand that comes in very handy at times   Mechatronics is a proper word to apply to some of my works.  I do have  credentials in electronics and industrial arts and a passion for mechanisms, especially engines.  Thanks again.   Ralph
