This is my most recent engine. I didn't know for sure what it was going to be when I started, and it became a beam finger treddle engine, I documented some build photos and will try to organize and get them posted. Ralph [I Here it is in operation. But I couldn't leave it at that, so decided to power it up. Steam / air power were considered, and it went on from there. The next post will show it as it resulted. Hi Ralph, Looks like my reply to your other post was a bit out of sync! A very neat build. A lot of component construction involved in this one. That's something I'm going to have to work on myself... It takes me ages to realise I can actually make the parts from many parts. I find It can be very difficult to get the correct angles! Looking forward to the next part :) Ralph. |

Hi again, Ralph, Yes, there is a lot of component construction involved in my models. With the limited equipment that I have, I have become well versed in the use of micro saws, many files, and other hand tools as well as with silver soldering. The circuitry is a collection of wires, switches, and lights (LEDs) and batteries arranged to facilitate the proper flow of electrons to electromagnets (solenoids). This marriage of mechanical and electrical components results in a functional device that is fun to play with. Posted below are a few more build photos and a video of the finished model, if one is ever really finished. Ralph |

I love the copious use of brass! Even though you say you have limited equipment, your results are fantastic. --- Quote ---This marriage of mechanical and electrical components results in a functional device that is fun to play with. --- End quote --- Mechatronics! I think that word fits that sentence. Eric |
