Federal DTI refurb

MadNick:
Evening,

I found this at the local car boot sale.

The action was a bit stiff and the lense misted with water.

I brought it home, let it dry in the airing cupboard for a couple of days, sprayed some TF2 onto the plunger and wayhey, a little DTI which is a great size for mounting on the toolpost and checking for centring up with the four jaw.

Cost? £1.

HI nice find their is a big boot sale not that far a way from me and most of my tooling has cum from their the most i have spent so far is £5 for a tool chest the trouble is i can not resist a bargen and i hate seeing tools with plenty of life left in them lying in crap if i have one 0 to1" mike i have 10 the latest tool was a clock bracket for the tool post all for the sum of 20p see pic

MadNick:
A very nice find!

I wouldnt know what that was for and thats the advantage over the seller that you had.

When I bought my lathe I had no tooling whatsoever, nothing. I kept picking up bits and pieces, morse tapers, HSS, dormer drills, taps/dies - the list goes on.

Well worth the effort to get up early.

Well done Nick, what is TF2?
