Nice one...exactly what happened with me. Now try and grind the old one to the same profile, width, sharpness and clearence and there is no reason why the one on the right in the photo won`t do the same! Glad you have something you can part with! Chris |

HI ? the black tool did you get that from rdg if its the same one that i have i had to modify it with the cutting blade titend up the blade itself sat hire than the blade holder did not notes this until i tried to set it up as soon as i titend the tool post clamp the tool tip went up so to stop this i soft soldered a pece of brass on the top i will post pics as soon as |

Hi krv. I believe the tool came from RDG, not sure..... It's the one, 5th pic down, here... http://madmodder.net/index.php?topic=2464.0 After the "snatch", I bent it straight again, and removed the positive top rake. It cut very well then. Until I bought a better tool. :thumbup: David D |

I have got one of the RDG tools too. Took me a little while to figure that the blade needed grinding the other way. The clamp bolts crushed the holder onto the blade because I was using it upside down and clamping on the blade side of the holder :doh: :doh: Like a twit, I used it as per the photo in the catalogue :doh: :doh: :doh: :doh: I wasn't going to tell anybody... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Andy |
