This is my first post , so please be gentle! I don't have any Wip photos, but here are a few shots of an awl I made on my Barker lathe. The materials are Stainless Steel (not sure what grade, but it's non magnetic), Cocobolo and silver steel (which I hardened and tempered in my kiln). I am a cabinetmaker by trade, but am starting to make woodworking tools... Besides a 4 morse mandrel this is the first real project I've completed on my lathe. I need to get some tooling and make a radius turner for the lathe I think. Thanks for looking. Adam. |

Hi Adam! That is a NICE looking awl. I have found that some hand made wood tools can works of art in themselves... I saw a hand planer once that was amazing. This one fits in that category. Just one complaint, when I clicked on the picture to see a larger one, I got an error saying your album was private. Any chance on making a public one so we can see bigger pictures? Again... very nice. Eric |

Wow, thanks for the generous replies. I've made the album public. Never realised you could even choose, to be honest! Thanks. Adam. |
