Randall Cox's Open Column Six Engine |
(1/1) |
cfellows:
This is the six cylinder version of my Open Column Twin. It was designed and built by Randall Cox and was featured in a two-part build article in Issues 1 and 2 of Model Engine Builder. I first saw Randall's engine at the GEARS model engine show in Portland, OR in 2006. I loved the engine and decided to build my twin and pattern after Randall's design. I'm now thinking a 3 cylinder inline version would also be pretty neat. This is the first video I've seen of this engine. Randall emailed me a couple of days ago with a link to the video, so I thought I would post it for the HMEM group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d11nI3BQMeM Chuck |

Very nice. I like that sound. It almost sounds like it's blowing bubbles when ideling down. Thanks for posting. Bernd |
AndyB:
I'm with Bernd on that, Lovely engine, lovely sound...like a 30's side-valve car engine. Thanks Andy |
AussieJimG:
It must be a great feeling to see one of your projects taken up and extended by someone else. And it is a great engine. Congratulations Chuck. Jim |
