Thanks for the welcomes.
I think I have the cam position close enough to get the engine started.
But I have just spotted another potential problem or two, the drawing notes say "the top of the wick level with the bottom of the flame port", but does not say how long the exposed portion of the wick should be, so I don't know how long to make the wick tube. (I might make it a slide fit in the spirit tank top and solder it up when the position is finalized). I have noticed on YouTube that the scott engines have the flame under the graphite valve as opposed to over the top. I have no intention of using gas, I only use spirit burners. I can feel for the first time in 48 years of modeling that one of my models is going to succumb to the club hammer.
