My Mini CNC mill
« on: November 08, 2011, 12:22:03 AM »
I bought this of ebay last year it was incomplete and one of the last mills that Widgitmaster  http://widgitmaster.com/  Made. it required the lead screws machining and all the drilling and threading doing fortunately most holes had been spotter but it did come with a complete set of drawings.
all the standoffs where made and steppers fitted I think I could have got away with smaller motors I also bought a couple of high speed heads from http://www.wolfgangengineering.com/Home.php  The TB-350 Spindle
I am using a Gecko G540 drive, one of the problem I had was I initially tried to convert my X1 to CNC  but stopped when I had some problems with sloppy nuts!!!
also I realized after a few minutes that everything needed to be in a box out of the way so this time I have fitted a server case under the bench on rails I  tell everyone it is a microwave . everything will be moved in it as soon as it works, ( so may never see the inside)
so I am now at the try to get Mach 3 to work, anyone in the merseyside/ uk / word want to help me???
ill post any progress I make .

I don't know if I am the best of help... but I got mine to run. Probably not optimally. I can be a last resort?
Science is fun.

We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
