« on: October 26, 2011, 08:07:42 PM »
Hi,

I notice in the odd welcome post, "welcome to the collective"

What is the collective?

Like minded individuals, grouped together for like purposes. In Sci Fi it was a term used for one mind groups, like the Borg of star trek  :borg:  :proj:

True, Stew. I liked the '60s TV series with its creaky scenery, watched in black and white 'cos colour only started here in '68 and in those days you didn't replace a monochrome set until it lost its magic smoke. Never got into the Star Trek films, though.

Thanks for the explanation.

It is that Chris. The likeness is we all like to create, tinker, mod what have you.  :dremel:

But it is also a trekkie reference. :borg:

Just all seems to fit.

Hah, I watched it in the UK, TV didn't arrive in SA until 1978 (I think) so here in SA they missed all the good stuff!
