Sterling Engine Wood Stove Fan |
(1/1) |
Chuck in E. TN:
I would like to build a Sterling Engine powered fan for a wood stove. It needs to be big enough to be useful, but fairly simple to make. I have drooled over the Meyers casting kit, but that is way too expensive for me. I have dabbled in casting aluminum and I think I could do lost foam. Has anyone built such a fan? Do you have any recommendations on plans, books, or build logs? I really want to make it myself, but have zero experience with Stirling engines. Chuck in E. TN |

Hi Chuck... I saw some plans somewhere that I want to do. I will see if I can find the link tonight when I get home. Eric |
Chuck in E. TN:
Thanks, Eric. Looking forward to seeing them. Chuck in E. TN |

Well I could be wrong... is this what you are talking about? LINK Eic |
Chuck in E. TN:
Real close, Eric. Do uou think the stand could be modified to sit on a wood stove and not be powered by the alcohol burner? I asume the fan draws air over the cool side for cooling? Not real familiar with stirling engines. I want to make one as a gift for my brother that runs a wood stove in his upstate N.Y. home. Chuck in E. TN |
