Are you sure? I thought the 79 to 86 versions were essentially the same as the Ford Mustang. And the later versions were based off a car from Australia.

Didn't realise you had those over there?
I had a MK2 Capri, mid green it was with a 1.6ltr engine. Found it in a field, been there for two yrs or more. Put a battery on it, drained the petrol etc and it fired first time.
It was old, it was neglected (abandoned in said field) BUT there was no rust and it was sound as a pound !!
Kept it for two yrs, drove it all over the country till some joker wrote it off for me.....then I bought a Cortina with a wopping 2ltr engine, loved it.
Mind you, at 25ish to the gallon it would be a bit expensive to run today !!!
