A Gismo ??? If it has a flywheel or spins and is made with small parts. I'll take one! If it makes noise, moves, or requires frequent oiling and dusting it's a better deal yet. It's especially right if its shiny and bright; but if it's dirty and dull it wont mater at all...

How did you make something like that? Did you follow plans?

I've got a drawing here somewhere. I'll send it along with that other stuff. I cast that mastery piece for you. I just have to clean it up and get everything boxed up.

I'll see if I can find the drawing. If not, I'll redraw it and make a PDF so everyone can see it.

Have a great day, Wes

Very nice Powder Keg

Here's a few Cannons that I made at work when the gaffers all went home :dremel:

They are only display pieces but are probably strong enough to fire with a small charge (not going to have a go though

I presume everyone has seen this??, it's fantastic (Gay is my new hero  :med: )

John  :)

You presume wrong.... I am now complete. :)

Amazing boom!  Although, I have to wonder how I get from watching anvils being blasted into the sky to some guy flipping a monster truck ... to some weird clip in an unidentifiable language doing things that, well .... you know?  Funny, this YouTube thing...

Ralph

I did ponder a little before I posted it but I thought- what the heck!

Even though he has a strange name, he's totally a hero in my book  :med:

Sparky- there's a vid on youtube of an anvil firing gone wrong, it almost gets the numbnuts that's doing it  :loco:

John  :D

Couldn't resist that line John... like a rag to a bull!

How mad must people be to discover that this is a fun pastime!?

There's always some numbnuts doing something very stupid on youtube!

I'm not on there myself yet.... But there's still time!  :ddb:

If you're into these things ...

There are several different artillery wotsits, with drawings, in this book.

Scale Model Cannons.      R.Stewart & D. Heyes    ISBN 0 7195 3888 2

So, poking that in ...

is the first that comes up ...   there may well be others ... DIY ???

 :offtopic: warning!

You ask about madness and anvil launching, I had a great Uncle who's idea of fun for 4th of July was putting a couple gallons of petrol in an empty 55gal drum in the middle of a field, screwing a spark plug in the bung (of the drum  :palm: ), and hooking the plug up to a car battery.

I can tell you it leaves quite the impression on an 8yr old (not to mention the need for clean shorts  :bugeye: )!

Cheers

Jeff
