Amateur radio, recycling junque from the junque box! |
(1/1) |
John Hill:
The local club station needs an HF transmatch, so into the junque box to see what could be cobbled together.. IMGP9365 by aardvark_akubra, on Flickr IMGP9364 by aardvark_akubra, on Flickr Totally untested but I hope the tuning range is adequate to handle the long wire that is being put up. |
Marauder:
Looks very nice from one Ham to another,Reminds me of a commercial transmatch i had several years ago worked well on long wires, always regretted getting rid of it.Let me know how you get on with it. G0 C-- |
John Hill:
Hi, the circuit is based on the Ultimate Transmatch as appeared in ARRL Handbook for many years. The original circuit had a very wide range but I am unsure if the coil from an old ARC5 transmitter will have enough inductance for 80 metres, time will tell. |
hopefuldave:
Maybe add another fixed inductor (or a pair) for 80 / 160M to the earth end of the rollercoaster, short with a Big Ceramic Switch when not required? Dave H. (The other one) a.k.a. G0IZY but too busy with machines to get on the air... |
