External Hones

I'd recieved my Model Engine Builder issue 25 last week and there is a nice article on external honing that I thought the membership would be interested in it. For those of you get the magazine this will be old hat.

One of the authors, Tom Blough, shows how to make a honing tool "which is reminiscent of the Delapena products." He has a web site at www.thebloughs.net  showing how he made his external hone.

Wow, thanks for posting that.  I have been considering making one.  The link has much more extensive set-by step instructions than the back issue (June 1997) of Model Engineer's Workshop that I had been reading.  I wonder how fast the Boride finishing stones wear?
