My Grandmother firmly believed that you had to leave appliance plugs in to stop electricity leaking out, otherwise why did they call them PLUGS.
Does anyone remeber the double adapters that fitted in the ceiling light sockets? My mum used to run irons, bar heaters, and water jugs of them :zap:
funny thing is we never set the house on fire.

In a lot of ways we've moved away from the "do it yourself / handy man" days. It is amazing to me what the "educated" public doesn't know. I guess common sense isn't so common!

We always joke at work that if something happens to the network we better have a bucket ready to catch all the 1's and 0's that will be flooding the floor.  :D
