Hi Troops Just sorting out my home brew tube bender. Few tweaks to do, but .... Is there any laid down info re: Tube OD; Tube SWG ( AWG ); and minimum bend radius ?? Pic is of 5/16" OD x 18 SWG annealed copper tube. It is 0.310" OD measured and the tube bend is 'flattened' to 0.316". This is with a bend radius of 0.687". ie the "U" bit is a 1 3/8" half circle. Or, at least the middle of the tube is ... All sorts of stuff re: boiler tube dimensions, WP etc. but nowt about bend radii acceptable ?? Any pointers from the boiler geezers ?? Dave BC |

Hi Bernd Thanks for the link .. Some very interesting info. on there. One bit seems to explain why my tube tends to 'creep' a small distance in the direction of the bend. BC |
