I need to tap a hole in some aluminum with a pipe tap.. How far in do you need to run the tap to have good threads? Thank you for the help John T. |

John, Is this a straight or taper thread? Is it just mechanical or to seal? DaveH |

It's a tapered 1/2 x 14 pipe tap. It needs to seal. |
