Are the bolts around the outside for looks or are they functional?

Something tells me that this way to make rims isn't new, but it's definitely new to me!  Thanks for putting that bug in my head for future priojects. :)

Would you think that with a gasket between the two halves you could go tubeless?  Seems to me that would making mounting tires very easy with no special equipment too.

Bolts around are cosmetic only :thumbup:
It is literally split rims,they are designed for easy mounting tires with no special equipment,about the tubeless system, I'm not sure but I think it is worth trying:beer:

Unfortunately it is still far from completion, to be exact as long as it is a set of parts :doh:
