A mostly Boring post....

Cheers Dave, I don't think it matters what time you find stuff on here :) Glad you (and others) like it
Dennis, Thank you. And my silence is due to many things in my social calendar as well as broken computer and of course many differing car repairs :borg: Still very happy with the DRO. Although barely used it yet....only used it for one operation on this build though, getting the centre correct when cross drilling the rod, takes about 30 seconds and you know you're dead centre
Thanks Scott, I know what you mean. This has been in my head for a few months and only the other week did I have all the required components. Well, I found a few of them while making it.
Not a bad prototype for an afternoon/evenings work. With 2 breaks for meals and even watched a film then went back out to finish it off :)
Does work an absolute treat, finish is silky smooth :ddb:

This is the first time repling to your post, by the way I have enjoyed keeping up with you. As they say I'm watching you. I have got a question, your pictures have a water mark like image, how did you do that? That is prefection in the finest. Enjoy your work, keep it up.

A whole post on using a free program and once it's set up it's a doddle to use
So when do we see some of your posts and work pictures? :poke: :)

Ralph,
Why couldn't you have posted this about 10 years ago? :bang:
A very clever combination of all the unrelated parts. One of the reasons I ordered the mill I now have was the built in power down feed and I certainly wouldn't want to be without it now. Maybe a unnessisary for you thought tho, Since my mill has a 3 speed power down feed, You could if required in the future add on something like a manual lathes change gear banjo and then use some small gears to give a multiple rate power down feed. A thought anyway.

Pete, in answer to your question ~4 years ago I didn't have any machine tools to mod'! :)
The speeds are altered on a variable speed controller, you see in the video how the hand wheel is spinning quite quickly and then slows to a crawl? That's due to me twiddling the knob a bit :ddb: :D
Happy you liked the result
Ralph.
