Internal micrometers opinions please?

Opinions on the 5-30mm internal mic below, I measure up a lot of watch cases and often don't know the exact size for glass gasket, hence hoping to buy a nice tool that has an exact measurement unlike verynears which always seem to vary?

One other thing 40 odd quid sounds nice but a little cheap?

Mmmm first loctite, now micrometers wonder what the price will be when they get some in. Prob like Bogs 20 squid notes.

Internal mic's like that are fine, for general internal measuring work, but do sometime suffer from operator error, due to only having two contact points. Mainly due to not being exactly square to what you are measuring. They do take a bit more practice than say an external mic to get consistent results.

I'm not knocking them as I use mine all the time, and they are much more accurate than say vernier or digital callipers.

If you have room to get them in, although a lot more expensive, three point internal micrometers are vastly superior and get around the two contact point error problems. I just wish I could justify the cost and I would get a couple of different sized sets, but if you want the accuracy, then this is maybe the way to go.

He has other types as well and I have found his 0.001mm digital micrometers for £17.91 to be great and have carbide faces.

These all probably come out of the same factory and I have found all his gear to be just as good as the rest.
If you want other things you can add/subtract them to the checkout without committing to see what the postage price is as he combines postage. The usual time is around 7-10 days air mail. If you are after a lot heavy gear he will send them sea freight for about a third of the air price.

I have one two point internal micrometer as pictured. I had it for month only. Hard to say really, but It calibrates pretty good on gauge. But I have to take multiple measurements on real word object and because I'm not used to it, it's fiddly. The one I have has a decent ratchet, without it I probably would cast it on epoxy and go heavy handed on valium.

I would suggest you raise your own post, as this is on about micrometers, not bore gauges, two totally different ways of precision measuring, and as far as I am concerned, I wouldn't want to divert away from giving Bry the correct information.
