John - looks a real job to be proud of - both the engine, and such a well-explained and illustrated build  :thumbup: :thumbup:

......Have you started to fell the trees to make its boat......

Nah - rather than the brown stuff, I think that just maybe we're going to see old-style iron platework?

Well John, I'll second that!!  You've got a very nice setup there, the whole build was a piece of work to watch and enjoy, I envy your boiler, getting a steamer up and having a boiler sitting ready to fire up is a treat to all who have been watching, and wishing to hear her run, as well as see her.  Air doesn't replace steam, but only gives a hint of what the steam will do. Very fine work on the patterns, the castings, on top of all the fine machine work.  I hope to have a furnace at the end of the winter so I can do some casting.  It looks to change everything.  I know how hard I have to look to find bits and pieces that will fill the hole, and being able to cast exactly the right part has to be the cat's meow.  Sure wish I could smell the steam and the burnt oil smell that goes with it. :bow: :jaw: :bugeye: :beer:  Cheers, on a very fine job showing how it's done.  mad jack

To quote Stilldrllin,

"In steam, it will be a sight to behold."

I have followed this from the beginning and all I can say is;

Never a truer word/sentence uttered!
