You need about 7' to 8'. At 7' the motor would probably just touch the ceiling. At 8' there's lots of room. My minimum ceiling to floor is 7' 10".

Looks like the price would be about $1300 US dollars right about now. That's cheap considering I paid $3500 for mine without coolant pump.

To bad you don't have the room for it. It looks like it's in nice clean condition.

The headroom in my workshop (and garage) is only about 6'-6" so no chance, Bridgy's often go on ebay for sensible money, though that seems a nice machine and I expect it will go up quite a bit yet,

Yes they often don't fetch too much, more about the room than the money here in ole UK.... :(

Still, garage not built yet, so can plan it around a bridgeport eh  :)

Just measured the Bridgy again she's 7' 1.5" tall.

OK CC, you need to think outside the box here.  :med: "If I can't go up how about if I go down?" :scratch:

Dig down about a foot and the mill will have lots of room. :wave:  :D  :D  :thumbup:

I really need to get back and build something.  :whip:

Almost Bernd, it used to get warm in there,,,,, :D

It's a water holding tank for my solar panels, about 600 ltrs. Lined with 100mm of Kingspan insulation and a butyl liner.
Used to get pretty hot in there last summer, trouble was condensation, I just couldn't stop it when the temp rose above as low as 30 deg C, higher and it became a real problem.

I've now fitted a 300lt SS unvented tank so no probs.


And yes the solar does work quite well. Summer water can get above 100 deg C if you are not careful. This time of year when the sun barely gets above horizon it raises my tank by about 10 deg when the sun sines. It'll soon start improving as we pass the solace.

I won't have thought that solar would work in the UK. I always here how cloudy and rainny it is a majority of the time.

Oh it is cloudy quite a lot. And rains, last two summers almost non stop it seemed.

But, despite this my water was heated by the sun most of the time.
I have evacuated tube type panels and they work very well, even when it's cloudy.
It's to do with UV rather than direct sunlight.
