Overdue Introduction!

DennisWA:
I've neglected to post an intro , so before  :hammer: here goes!

I retired at the end of 2008 and use my workshop for all kinds of "fix it" work on house, cars, machines etc. In the background I am slowly proceeding to build a "Dholpur" narrow gauge Hunslet engine (castings and drawings from GLR in the UK) that runs on 5" gauge. I have a Colchester Student and Myford Super 7 lathes and a Spanish Milko 14 universal milling machine, all bought used but in good condition.

My only other live steam project years ago was a rebuild of a Simplex loco which taught me a lot about how the bits go together - I still run it very occasionally on the track of the model engineering club I belong to in Johannesburg.

Relative to the interests of MadModder, I have made Stuart 10V and 9 engines, built / repaired tooling, clocks, and parts for the restoration of vintage fullsize oil engines. I'm probably better at fixing than manufacture from new, as I'm making a component to fit an existing machine.

I will post pictures in due course, but I'm away from home (and workshop) until mid-July, visiting family in UK / USA.

Cheers

Dennis
