Hello, from another long time lurker and avid reader who has decided to take the plunge and join the site. I’m an engineer cruising towards retirement worked for the same company for 34 yrs starting as an apprentice. Ours was a heavy engineering company; most of my time there was spent on plant and machine tool maintenance. Then came redundancy and I fancied a change of job. Eventually found one as a mobile service engineer, servicing. … . . . . . . .mmmm machine tools. Well better the devil you know!!!
I came across a very cheap Boxford AUD several yrs ago; I needed my fix of soluble oil and swarf. So there it has been in the garage little used really. Till I found this site and started reading what some people do in there garage, shed or workshop the bug is biting, the skill and knowledge here is amazing, as are the characters. Bogstandard  for  know how and an ability to explain things so they can be understood and the  advice he offers. Da Kengineer (does he find time to ever leave his studio) how can you comment on this guy, amazing and a lot of you think the same by your comments. I could carry on naming names but wont just singled out 2 that I read first. So the lathe has had a spring clean and a bit over make over. First is job making more tooling bits and pieces, hmm quite a list there. Made a few wobblers in the past and a few turbines. Not sure what  the project will be,
