I've also used Firefox for a long time, and found version 4's layout confusing.
There are tips at http://lifehacker.com/#!5784783/how-to-fix-annoyances-with-firefox-4s-new-look , how to make it to look more like previous version.

Got it a couple of weeks ago when my computer crashed hard and I had to re-install everything.... It does seem quite satisfactory
Still finding new little bits hidden in the toolbars etc. It would be nice if they could keep some of the layout you're used to and just make it quicker and better! Still.... That's progress for you!

Hi
I downloaded it yesterday and the one thing that hacks me off is that the google toolbar is incompatible with the new version, so no autofill for a start.
there's something called googlebar lite that does nothing so I'm inclined to follow Bogs and reinstall the earlier version.
