Wow....I can't believe how much time has passed since my last post on this project..... After a longer than anticipated break, I've started making parts and assembling the upper portion of the robot. With a lot of work involving thin materials (1-2mm thicknesss aluminum sheets), using double sided flooring tape worked pretty well in holding down parts on the machine. * thin passes and no coolant! |

Made more progress today! :D |

Hi Vanguard, Beautiful engineering and super cool. One thing though - presuming you are intending on getting it to walk, how are you going to balance this robot? Giros? Or maybe keeping weights of some sort below the centre of gravity? Kind regards, Ron. |
HS93:
Looks great, are you working of plans and is there any cnc files avalable for it peter |
vanguard29:
Hi Ron, There are several similar type robots that people have built with and without gyros. Though this is my first robot from the ground up so I expect to be doing a lot of learning and tweaking as I go. Hi Peter, This robot is entirely self designed - and I will confess that there have been some parts that have gone through a few iterations as this project has sometimes been a 'design as you go' process for me. |
