Hi Nick, No, not at all did you come across in a "bad" way, nor was it a hasty judgment - I appreciate your views. The trouble with machining all over is you can never get rid of machining marks in those "hard to reach" areas. Here's a thought - if the unmachined surface is pretty flat and linear - leave it alone - maybe a lick of paint would serve? (Paint would "take" a lot easier on a "rough" surface than a shiny one).
