I want to get a coolant system up and running on my milling machine, it's got a sump and a mechanical pump but I need to have the table feed motor running for the pump to work so will probably disconnect this and get a submersible aquarium type pump instead. Any idea of what sort of lph I should be looking for - I don't want to replicate Niagra but I do need it to put out enough coolant to be effective. :)

I have been considering a similar plan.  Would an aquarium pump (properly filtered from dust/swarf) survive commercial coolants?

I am using a pump intended for use in a fish pond in my homemade parts washer and so far I have not had any problems with it.  So using it to pump suds, which are less aggresive chemicals should not be a problem.

They work great
Just make sure you get one that can lift a good head
Most only do 0.8 mitre
I bought a water feature pump off ebay that would give a head of 2 mitres
