Took me a couple of minutes ...

When the two screws are tightened, the two parts slide against each other a small amount.

The relative displacement thus locks the assembly in the bore of the spindle.

I think that's what happens anyway ...  :scratch:

Don't worry, when I first saw it I also wondered what the hell was going on.

That's pretty much how I understand it as well. Looks simple and quick to make.

A friend of mine just bought a 9x20 clone and needs something like this, it might be a good tutorial for him.
Just not sure how badly my angle grinder-offcut machine would mutilate that angle. The Alu cutting discs I have don't seem to cut that cleanly.
