I can defo relate to the finger injury... When I worked at the power station many, many years ago, I was going outside and as I opened the door, a gust of wind caught it... I put my hand around the edge of said door to stop it crashing into a metal ladder that was on the wall adjacent to the opening....Suffice to say I should not have done that! My 2nd finger RH came between the ladder and the door.... Swelled up good and proper it did...So off to hospital A&E....The nurse got a small spirit lamp and took a paper clip, unfolded it, held one end in the flame and said 'hold out your hand this might sting a bit'.....Yeeeaahhhhhhhh....you're not kidding....I promptly fell to the floor....She popped her head outside the curtain and hailed the current Mrs Rudd... 'Could you help your husband up off the floor? ' she asked.... After having a dressing applied to said finger, we headed back for home...I need a drink!! |
