Grinding Rest
« on: February 17, 2011, 04:37:30 PM »
I see that some forum members have, or are, making Harold Hall,s grinding rest.

They may then be interested in looking at www.homews.co.uk/page59.html   which shows a method of mounting it that makes it easier to use as it can be positioned much more accurately leaving less for the rest itself to do.

On another subject, a basic index for the Model Engineers' Magazine can be found at www.homews-mew-index.co.uk

 Welcome to Madmodder, Ken, and thanks for the link. I didn't know Harold Hall had a website. Now, I'll have you to blame when I get to bed in the small hours, having spent half the night studying it!

I've cut the end off it twice, but it's still too short

The plans for this Wong can be found in the Workshop Practice Series book Milling a Complete Course number 35.

This book is a project based course and the grinding rest is one of the more complex projects. It also includes the accessories for sharpening a wide range of tools
