« on: January 30, 2011, 11:46:09 AM »
Just got this Email  :jaw:  :bugeye:  doesn't take em long to try any new angle

Asallam Aliekum,

I am a consultant to the Egyptian President. I am contacting you for a possible business deal based on the present political crisis in Egypt. The conglomerate of

Mohamed Hosni Mubarak is ready to partner with you to help secure the resources of the president since the office of the presidency has been dissolved.

You can read more about it on this website:

Two links to news web sites were here

As soon as we receive your positive response we will proceed with the arrangement and provide you our terms and conditions. The deal involves huge cash movement and

liquidation of foreign and local investment.

Your immediate response will be appreciated.

Dear Mr. Hammad:

Please be advised that Henry Kissinger Associates in conjunction with Zwigli Bank (SA) and their considerable syndicate has this matter well in hand.  Our nearly five decades of experience in securing assets for rulers fleeing their homelands has no parallel.  This is no job for amateurs, please leave it to the professionals.

Sincerely,
Mahmoud Abbas

Seems to be like seasonal flu. Anyways, it would be fun to get even small part of those millions to my bank account.

But as the saying goes: "money talks, bullshit walks".

In this case, latter speaks for itself.

I've been getting email warnings re
1 online banking
2 paypal about to close your account
3 scam warnings re your account with a banks I don't even have business with etc etc etc
most is picked up as spam but some gets thro'

+ Phone calls from "Microsoft's call center Oxford" (with an Indian accent  ) :loco:

Saying my computer is corrupt & they will talk me through installing a patch, they get you to load a program that freezes the machine & then want your card details for the release code
see-
http://www.computerassistance.uk.com/node/58

A variation is as above, but FREE & you load their key logger on your machine, then they upload ALL your secure data.

But the latest (& best so far) just last wk -

is that-

"our records tell us that your computer is runing slow as it is filling up with child porn down loads (from a new virus) & the police have software that checks all computers for this kind of thing & are prosecuting everyone found, as pedophiles.  :bugeye: That could break up your family & lose your job.

Now sir if you switch on your computer I will talk you through.........."

I bet that could worry a lot of people, particularly with sensitive jobs.

I preferred giving my bank details to Nigerian Princes helping the sick children....  :( at least you could trust them

It you have nothing better on that day just spend as long as it takes to pretend to work through all the steps being sure to act just a little dumb along the way,  20 minutes is good, an hour would be better.  When he asked for the credit card details just tell him you dont have a credit card!

Oh dear,  that could take a while to find, at least long enough for you to have a cup of tea while they wait on the line,  then tell them you cant find it!
