If I had to rely on photos, I'd worry about damage which they may not reveal. For instance, bed damage from the apron being been driven violently back against the bed when it hit the floor, and a bent spindle when the lathe stopped suddenly and the chuck tried to carry on downwards.
That said, if it's really cheap, and you are looking for yet another lathe, why not? No apparent bloodstains, so it probably doesn't incorporate bits of the previous owner's toes
