A Rose by any other name!
« on: January 04, 2011, 03:23:08 PM »
This I posted on another site, in answer to a question on making metal roses.  The second was posted there also. Might be an idea for one of the holidays coming up or for a dozen for next Christmas.

Best and easiest way is to, get a cloth faux rose, and take it a part, then using each piece to trace it on a file folder for patterns. There will be a number of them, in reducing size as you get towards the center.
Do the same for the leaves and leaves on the stem, along with building the stem joints etc if you are looking for details.

When in doubt google, here is one broad search

The third one down is one of the free be's, the first two are adverts. he also has some instructions a couple post down.
another link for an interesting site on metal roses
Check out some of the other photo's for the roto view photo's and his bucket account.
