Good HONEST metal supplier (UK)
Divided he ad:
Well after an interesting little episode and the spotting of an undesirable shamelessly promoting his hugely overpriced goods, I asked the chief and he said it's alright to share this with you guys.
P.L.Hill sales. Metals supplier.
I found him a few years ago and being me had searched a good few sites before I purchased anything.
I've found his price to be more than reasonable IMO and in the few phone conversations and the 1 meeting (he had a small stall at a show 2 years ago) I found the man himself to be a really nice guy.
I've purchased a fair bit from him over the years and never had any issues with the goods and delivery. His service is spot on
Make sure you leave your phone number, I've had a couple of issues with my card and address that he sorted out swiftly so I got my stock :ddb:
Anywho, here's the link.... Compare him to your supplier and post any interesting differences

Let's see if we can get any other good deals on here. Member quality assured ones that is.... Spammers can sod off :wack:
As always, I'm not part of his company or nuffink :)
Ralph.
Bogstandard:
Ralph,
If you are refering to Noggin, he is in fact a very reasonably priced metal supplier, Noggin End, just down the A500, a few miles from myself.
I think he has made a mistake in how he introduced himself, and might have shot himself in the foot.

I think Ralph's supplier is in Bradford, John. His price list is somewhat cheaper than most I have looked at, but mild steel is only listed CRS with flats in smallish sizes, though he does say other sizes are available on request. Good to see rounds of silver steel up to 2"; pricey at that size, but that's not surprising. I might make up an order early in 2011 and give him a try. The contents of the junkbox are getting a bit small now, and keep getting smaller and smaller each time I try making something out of them and then throw the results back in disgust.

Wasn't stating names John, but since you called it....
A quick comparison of charges £2.70 for 300mm of 9 1/6 round brass bar as opposed to £6 for 12"... And 3" round @ £5.80 per25mm as opposed to £14 per inch.
If you were just going to purchase 5 units of the 9 1/6 round bar above £21 as opposed to £39 That's inclusive of postage. That's a huge difference to me.
Don't want an issue of it (hence no names used in OP) I was just proper shocked at the difference :bugeye:
Still can't find anything close to your supply though! Scrappy is a bit hit and miss, but great on cost
Not forcing anyone to buy, just stating my knowledge of a cheap (IMHO) source.
Ralph.

Just noticed the prices do not include VAT - he may not be VAT registered.
From T & C :-
"All prices are exclusive of VAT, current rate 0%, subject to changes in taxation."
If so make the most of it .. .
