That damn thing landed for the first time at Ringway Manchester Airport about 3 weeks ago. Just afterwards, I happened to be driving past towards for my weekly symposium (sounds impressive, but it's Greek for a session in the pub) with other retired old farts. Major traffic jam as police shepherded crowds of wild-eyed men clutching airband radios back to the cars they had abandoned on the roadside verges in their haste to have a look at the plane.
And on the subject of planes, I like the livery adopted by this budget South African airline:
Andy
Stilldrillin:
I love that paint job Andy!
An airline business with a great sense of humour.....

True story.
In a previous life we used to service aircraft refuelling vehicles and spent a lot of time out at airports. Just as you can hire cars you can also hire aircraft on long or short term lease. Anyway one of the budget airlines who has since finished realised they needed an extra plane for the summer runs so they hired one from Air Lingus.
Standard operating procedure, it's checked over at start of contract by the budget line engineers, repainted brown and orange in their colours and once done it's repainted in Air Lingus colours and checked over by Air Lingus engineers.
All went well and at the end of the contract it was being checked over when they noticed a small white rectangular mark on the nose, a set of steps was found and their engineer climbed up only to see it was a small painted badge that read :-
"This aircraft must be flown green side up "
