That's a thought, Dave!

Might also have a Robinson, to go with it. Will it all fit? Will the car cope?

No steaming for me........

No steaming for you, David?  Just hot air-ing, then?

I would love to go to something like this, once in my life.  There are a lot of steam enthusiasts in my area (state), but
they are into full sized steamers.  Farm traction engines, mostly.  At least there are folks keeping it alive.
Still, I really want to visit GB one day, and I'm going to make sure I go when you all are toy steaming it up!

Nice of you to put an announcement here, David.

Contemplating having a trip up myself ... sounds like my sort of shindig ..

Assuming, that is, I'm not putting up curtain poles for the womenfolk ..

(Had a moment of mental aberration   ... silly old sod that I am   ...  :(  must get a grip )

Would only take about 1 to 1 1/2 hours eh? All motorway ...

Dean,

Even though I'm a member of a toy steam group, I prefer the challenge of the necessary "alchemy/ black magic", needed for hot air and flamelicker engines.

Steaming is not that much of a challenge!  ::)

Re. visiting UK. One member from Indiana, and one from the Virgin Islands are arriving shortly...... If hurricane Earl has not caused too much chaos......   :bugeye:

Dave,

No motorway for me. I'm going straight across. About an hour..... Worksop, Retford, Gainsborough, (picking up SKIPRAT). Then up to the venue.  :D

Hope to see you there!

Wish I had the cash to go. A lot of people in the UK I need to have coffee (tea) with!

Dean,

You need to get to a Cabin Fever or NAMES show. Plenty of model engineering! Had a wicked time the last few times I went. In fact, the year before last, I got to hang out with Bernd and Cedge!

Eric
Science is fun.

We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.

Hmmm....... Yer right Rob!

Had a crackin' day. Met many Forum Friends old and new.

Not easy to photograph, as well as man the table/ fight the breeze/ distribute flapjacks, etc......

We were outside, around the pumping station.....

My table. (Not my spare tyre.  ::)).....

Regarding engine pics, I suggest you view young Ross's posting. (He's the lad on the right of my first pic). Make sure you watch the video.....

http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/about33116.html

I had a lot of trouble with the very gentle breeze. Me flamelickers wouldn't, and we'd no compressor for the elbow engine.

Managed to keep the Huxtable going, but it insisted on shaking the table and disturbing the low temp engine from it's perch on the coffee mug! No damage done.....

Had a great day!

Ha!  That's for sure, especially when you buy them ready made.  But they are still a lot of fun!

Yes, that too Eric!  Someday I'll make one, and one in the U.K., too.
Someone loaned me a video tape of NAMES quite a while back.  Talk about nirvana for us home shop guys...

Thanks for the pics and such, David!
