Good job on the restoration. I used to have a few of these that were destined to be restored, but I couldn't find the time and I came across a bandsaw so I sold the hacksaws - one of which I think will get the restoration it deserved. A big old piece of iron never ceases to get me all nostalgic though. Your english seems fine, but the makers of the machine could have used a few hours on Google Translate themselves. This beautiful rebuilt has inspired me to build that power hacksaw I have always wanted. I plan to use ground steel flat stock for the guide arm. I assume the main pulley is cast iron? Have had minor success silver soldering, but see why you went with a professional for the weld job. -Dick |
