now ive got my new lathe im making a lot of swarf my question is a uk residents which bin do you put your swarf in thanks colin |
SKIPRAT:
Hi Colin I probably am lucky in that respect as in my home town we have a recycling depot i just take it along in bags and just tip it out in the scrap metal skip which i think is the right way to go . I know even SKIPRAT has to make "deposits" sometimes you can't go making "withdrawals" all the time !! Cheers Paul   |

Here in Trafford, we have a bin for bottles (glass or plastic) and cans (steel or aluminium), which they must be sorting into those four categories mechanically/magnetically. So I dump aluminium and ferrous swarf in there. I don't create much in the way of brass/bronze chips. If I did, I'd collect them for sale to the scrappie, but as it is they go in the landfill bin. Stilldrillin:
Colin, Swarf goes in the general rubbish.... Any piece of scrap metal I can pick up/ hold, goes in a bucket, which is eventually taken to the local recycle site. David D |
kwackers:
I throw everything into a container and then when that fills take it to the local recycling depot and chuck it in their scrap bin. |
