Don't make me post the Then & Now pics.... you'll be  :jaw:....

Now turning the blank for the torch.  Cut it a little too short to clamp & faced to required length of 25mm.  Diameter is also not uniformed.  Slight taper (around .01mm). Hope won't affect much thereafter.

No, I didn't finish. Went with Sherline's mill & lathe and decided to learn more on machining first. How are things going at your end?
