Hello from the East Coast of the US

(1/1)

Chrispy:
Hi folks,
I've been lurking for some time and decided to join. I'm from Maryland which is on the East Coast of the US. I do machine work as a hobby... my profession is as an automotive instructor. I teach mechanics how stuff works and how to fix it.
I currently have a 12 x 24 and 6 x 18 lathe, a mini mill, a medium sized mill that I just picked up, a 7" Rhodes and 7" aamco shaper, and a Delta-Milwaukee Toolmaker surface grinder. I am still learning as I go and have already learned much from this forum :nrocks:...I hope to learn much more in the years to come.

Hiya Chris!

Welcome to the collective :borg:

Hey from the east coast. MD isn't that far from NJ. So whatcha into? Sounds like you got some impressive equipment.

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the collective.  :borg:

Looks like you'll fit right in.

Chrispy:
Thanks for the warm welcome!
Eric, to answer your question - I'm into learning how to get better with my machines right now. I've been fixing and modding some car parts mostly... along with making more tooling for the lathe, mill, and shaper. The two projects I just completed were a shaper toolholder made from Art Volz's (sp?) plans and a 5C collet sleeve, thread protector, and handwheel closer for the lathe. I know, I know  :worthless:.
I'll see if I can take some pics tonight.
Chris
